Image for the poem only if Jesus never died

only if Jesus never died

If only Jesus never died.
Maybe love would have survived.
we would have had the courage to stand and fight.
To fight for all we believe is right.
this fight would be worth the price.
we would have learnt to dance to the rhythm of the night,
And see the day when nobody died.
Only if jesus never died.

Maybe the deaths of our brothers and sister wouldn't be vein
our sacrifices and prayers would have paid.
we would have learnt to overcome the pain.
this dammed human race would have been saved.
true freedom would have had its place.
human souls wouldn't be for sale.
success wouldn't be locked away somewhere in a cage.
Black or white maybe we would see each other the same.
If only if Jesus never died.

Maybe true freedom wouldn't be in our dreams.
we wouldn't be having vagabonds sleeping under trees.
We wouldn't be having children begging on the streets.
this hate and discrimination wouldn't be ashed so deep in our skin.
we would have put our arms down and see this world at peace.
this war wouldn't be having more victims to kill.
all of this will be over and we began to heal.
we would have learnt to practice what we preach.
each one would have something to teach.
each one would have something to give.
our race wouldn't be an infectious disease.
true love wouldn't be a sin.
If only Jesus never died.
