Image for the poem Crack Heads

Crack Heads

Her voice penetrates my southern wall
Rants and raves around midnight
And the company she keeps
Mumble words of amusement

She might have used a Pyrex pipe
Equipped with a filter, steel wool
The crack melted into its fiber
Vaporized right to the head

The final result is blurting rage
Tirades against this man next door
His complaints of voices in the night
Assaulting their cracked skulls and ears

They later cackle down the twisted streets
Ones that they proclaim their own
Delusions of the pipe grandeur
Can't conceal that their minds are blown.
