Words for grandpa

I touched your hands and they were cold.
I cried a tear and down it rolled.
Sometimes I still feel the urge to cry.
When I think about the years that went by.
Growning up was hard.
Knowing life had stopped your heart.
You went away out of the blue.
We will always miss you.
Like an arrow that never reaches it's target.
But deep down, I know we never parted.
I always admired the positivity you had in you.
Even when it was pain life put you through.
To think of your smile again,
Made me move my pen.

Author's Note
When I was eleven years old I was away on summer camp and when I came home,
my parents had to tell me that my grandfather (whom I got a lot of my interests and musical taste) passed away while I was gone. It broke my heart and I still can't really think about it without halfly crying so I dedicated my first poem ever to him.
