Dance With Me
blood was raining on the pavement
little splatters staining windows
painting the pillars red
the birds, they fled
the crows were a harbinger
warning all of the slaughter
so laugh now as we dance
staining our ankles in flowing gutters
uncovered as it sprays onto bare skin
we would never be whole again
I stepped out of my hiding place
sating my hunger from the river
I stared at you with darkened eyes
and watched your shivers
against my sharpened teeth
so dance with me
in the blood red rain
and laugh with me
then ask, "am I a monster
or are we all insane?"
so dance with me
in the cold, red flood
and feast with me
for we are all the same
rolling in the filthy mud
little splatters staining windows
painting the pillars red
the birds, they fled
the crows were a harbinger
warning all of the slaughter
so laugh now as we dance
staining our ankles in flowing gutters
uncovered as it sprays onto bare skin
we would never be whole again
I stepped out of my hiding place
sating my hunger from the river
I stared at you with darkened eyes
and watched your shivers
against my sharpened teeth
so dance with me
in the blood red rain
and laugh with me
then ask, "am I a monster
or are we all insane?"
so dance with me
in the cold, red flood
and feast with me
for we are all the same
rolling in the filthy mud
