Black dot on a white canvas

They all marveled at the a black dot positioned in the center of a white canvas
I peered over shoulders squinting and leaning thinking I don't get this
then it hit me, the dot centered on the white canvas represented the artists feelings of loneliness
that the black dot was someone who had drawn so far into themselves that they were only surrounded by emptiness
yet at the same time the white was a rush of chaos and in the blackness of the dot was peace
so much more begin to come together the more I examined the artists piece
that maybe the white was not empty space, no the black dot is actually the void
representation of missed opportunities, incompleteness or dreams destroyed  
or maybe the white was pressure caving in on the dot
surrounded by troubles the black dot is the last safe haven spot
or is it the opposite, the focal point is a distraction from the rest off it
a blemish , a blotch , a imperfection
a singled out selection surrounded by layers of white for the dots protection

I set there and  marveled at the a black dot positioned in the center of a white canvas

For the dot is me and just like that very dot ,
 I am all of this
