Shangri-la

Speak to me
Through the stanzas of your poem
Tell me you feel for me
Tell me you understand
Hold me for a while
with the writings in your mind

Answer me now I whisper
In the darkness of my gloom
Reach out and touch me
Let your scent linger
Brighten this dark room
with your presence

Touch me with your need
Hold me in your want
Embrace me with your wish
Caress me with your demand
Your words will be a balm
on this aching heart

Touching the mirror
Looking in hoping for Narnia
A land of fantasy
where you are
a life ever after,
a shangri-la
A poet's mind
and an imprisoned heart
