Love and Hate

The world it pushes on    
whether we come along or not
proding and poking  
at times it's evoking  
   
feelings  
such a natural thing  
in an unnatural state  
take love and hate  
   
love on display    
lays dormant on end  
but with hate, there's no pretend  
we rip at each word  
at thoughts thought absurd  
   
there are things I have seen  
that have chisled and shaped  
and others I know  
I wish I had escaped  
   
but I go on with my dreams  
these hopes, holding my heart  
pushing past hate  
where love can now start  
   
Sometimes you just have to believe
