Blood Kin

The voices floating down the hall
And I stand silent with their call
Family members who have passed
All tell me that my days won't last

I catch their whispers on the wind
Informing me that I have sinned
And their words slice me to the bone
My blood shed as I stand alone

They cleanse their souls and have their say
Instructing me that I must stay
Remember that I have transgressed
Their curse left 'til I have confessed

So I admit to countless lies
Ridicule of family ties
They say that they can now believe
Then shed a tear, and take their leave.
