Crimson Peak

I lie awake once again, to a hollow blue moon ascending to its starless monastery
Looking down on its kingdom laid to ash,
Brittle and cold, it holds no asylum for the living
Memories of those who stood against the light succumb to the affection to which the land was given
I suffocate amidst a thick halo of bitter sin, as it burns as acid through my skin
An orchard of rotting bone permeates the essence of still life in the air
Nurturing the befouled river of cinder, left to feed the disease with tender care
My life, my love, forever lost to the gaping flames of time
For this godless endeavor, we are left alone to suffer
the anguished trials of our crime
Once-believed immortal conquerors crowned as divine, rest suspended  amongst the pale-blue sky
Rendered husks of decaying flesh, left to hang at crimson peak, barbed strands of coiled wire left them stricken of life
Arriving upon the edge of daylight, I slip into the void
Perpetuated to submit myself under the blaze of the northern sky
The Specters roam free amongst my dreams, and haunt a feeble mind once again
render myself helpless and converge to ascertain my deepest thoughts
hidden away to an unconscious state of euphoria. The realm in which my mind seeks to resolve itself
acting ignorant of any ill-faded tragedy that plagues once’s soul from happiness
The flawed epitome of evil casts its silhouette over me, presenting itself as the shape none over wish to encounter
The work of fables and legend do not serve its justice
for even the unhallowed deceased may have yet to fathom the wealth of her sinister grip
I am marked
