a new pair of eyes
a pair of new eyes
in a stained paper bag
I’ve found today
I almost poked out mine
almost cried them fully out
pushing away my captivation
but it’s still so strong
so beautiful
still full of love I can not kill
I put them in the fridge
just in case you’ll like
to take a look at me
again one day
and see me differently
with this new pair of eyes
...but I know you wouldn't
and I'm still bargaining about
our imminent death as a couple

I bounced really hard this weekend into believing I can win my ex back with poetry, with art, with eternal light that feeds the soul... but the only response I got was a "..."

This is heartbreaking to read, but at the same time so creative:
