Happy you liked the enjambment... when I started reading here it didn't make sense to me at all. Now I can't write without it (you should read some of my first work, it's a difference like night and day)

Yep, singing it...

Writing a tribute is (was) quite challenging, so I'm glad it came as a surprise and made you smile! It's well deserved... don't underestimate yourself!

It maybe true that I already had a voice, but it was a voice I didn't like and even though you think teaching me a few things was not a great deal, it meant a lot to me! I changed my style (almost) overnight and I couldn't have done that without you!

In all honesty... they are far from healed, but I believe that no matter how dark life is, it's important to not forget the positives! Thank you for your comment :-)

perhaps healing is not binary...and happens over time...but in the meantime...how's this for positive: darkness can be great fuel if you let it :)

That guy really took people under his wing and gave them a chance, he never minced his words either, what you see is what you got with that old dog and your write definitely expresses that.

He pops in and out now again whenever he wants to, definitely had the todski experience when I came to DU in a bad place back in 2017 under a different username, he's a diamond in the rough but he always opened his ears to those who needed to be heard or seen, he certainly did with me which is why I smiled while reading your poem, i'm happy to see he also gifted others the same experience and heard others on their journeys too regardless what shape and form they came in, being unapologetically yourself is the greatest gift in life and i'm happy to see somebody else embracing it.

Thank you for being here and for reminding us about those who silently elevate us to where we can be 😊
