untitled III

Will you remember me?
Will you remember me when the walls start crumbling down?
Will you remember me when I'm left buried in the rubble rotting into the ground? The black barbed vines emerging around me? Ripping through me, ribboning me as they twist and pull me deeper and deeper?
Will you remember me when the debris seeps into your brain replacing me with soot and smog that try to veil me away?
Will you remember me when I become nothing more than a breeze rolling through your window lifting the snowy coating of dust settling upon your unopened books
Your spine as stiff as theirs and me just as unread and left to the latter
I had let you use me up
I had let you break me down
Now my wings are clipped and my feet are too tired to walk the grounds
I put everything I had into something that couldn't grow
But I still have to find my way back to you
Tell me what more can I give that is more than all of me?
I've got your doubt swirling in my head and damnation pumping through my blood
and my hands cant seem to find a grip to keep me from slipping from your memory
I followed you into the dark, the decay closing in on us
You're so far away now
I'll hold on to those precious days when there was still you and me in the illuminating light that warmed our hearts and made us think that forever was a possibility
