The sky is overcast as I walk down a long, quiet road.
How did I ever get to this point, with my life at such a crossroad?
The world around me seems so dim.
What’s about to happen, will I sink or swim?
I feel the walls closing in around me.
I feel the devil behind me telling me I have nowhere to flee.
I feel the dark pulling at my heart and soul.
It wants me to pick up a gun and go for a little stole.
I grab ahold of the light as tight as I can,
after all it is the best plan.
It’s a crime not too many can relate
to these feelings trapped inside me holding me down like a massive weight.
It’s a shame that I walk alone in this world only known to me.
Read this words carefully and take them in deeply for they hold the key,
for coming face to face with a banshee
and walking away the winner instead of she.

After a long while of walking, I turn off the road and down a long, gravel driveway.
A strange woman has been following me for some time and I’ve been doing my best to stay ahead of her and keep her away.
She’s been yelling at me to help her but the feeling I have inside my stomach is not very good.
She might be trying to set me up to rob me or do something worse in all likelihood.

I notice a red house at the end of the gravel driveway and decide to duck inside to take cover from my stalker.
If it wasn’t for her being such a talker,
I would think she was one of those walking dead walkers.
A far cry from a punk rocker.

I reach the front door of the house and get inside closing the door tight behind me and locking it as I take cover out of sight from the windows.
I just want to be hidden and away from this weirdo.

A knock at the door interrupts my thought process as a woman cries out for me to let her in.
Something feels off about her and if I had body hair, it would be standing straight up on my skin.
The knocking continues as she yells louder and louder for me to help her and let her in the house.
Women are crazy is swear, this is why I’m never going to have a spouse.

I hear the woman’s footsteps walk away from the front door and towards…the sliding side door.
Shit, is that door locked, I’m not exactly sure.

I get up and make my way to the sliding side door as I begins to open.
I quickly take ahold of the door and slam it shut staring into the bloodshot eyes of the woman, what kind of shit is she smoking?

She screams at me to let her in and pleads with me that if I leave her outside she will die.
I tell her it won’t kill her to sleep out underneath the sky.
She tells me it’s about to get cold and she will freeze to death.
I tell her it’s the middle of summer and that she must be on meth.

Out of know where, a group of 7 people show up and take the woman’s side, begging me to let them all in so they can survive.
Fuck, they can’t rely on me to thrive.
I can hardly take care of myself much less all of these people.
There is no way that together, they can be that feeble.
Band together and they will survive whatever life has to throw at them no problem.
Leaving me alone now would be awesome.

Suddenly my attention is turned to the back door of the house as the sound of someone opening it strikes against my ear drums.
The group of people standing outside the side door smile as another attempt to get inside the house as come.

I run to the back door at full speed and grab ahold of the door as it begins to swing open.
I pull it shut and attempt to lock it but find the lock might be broken.
Attempt after attempt I can’t get it stay in place and keep the door locked.
I’m so tired of being stalked.
Why can’t these assholes just leave me alone,
I shout as out loud I groan.

Finally after what seems like hours of messing with the lock, I get it to stay in place.
I look up at the window to see a man staring at me looking a little red in the face.
Behind him stand…hundreds of people all asking me to help them.
It’s a sickening sight that causes me to spit up a little phlegm.

I’m completely surrounded and now stuck in this house.
I guess it’s too late to find myself a spouse.
Not like I had to realistic chance of finding one anyways.
I’m too crazy and out there to leave any woman singing my praise.

I turn away from the back door and notice a door leading down to the basement.
Just so happens this door happens to have perfect placement.
I open the door and head down to the basement to explore.
The basement is cold and dark and sends chills down to my core.

Towards the back of the basement is a closed door leading to another room.
Something evil lurks behind that door I assume.
I approach the door slowly and place my hand on the door knob.
I slowly turn the knob hoping my heart doesn’t decide to stop.

I open the door as the outline of a man stands towards the back of the room.
He looks up towards me, his eyes red and full of doom.

I quickly back away…
as my eyes open to discover a dark room shadowed in black.
I look over to my alarm clock,
It tells me it’s 3 am.
3 am has arrived one again,
and once again I survive to see another day.
