a living tree mourns the passing of the storm
for the storm
brought to it
e v e r y t h i n g
it
ever yearned
made it bend
feel alive
like the moving life
that surrounds it
brought it rains
brought it winds
taught it dance
in a way
it never thought
it could
and that too
with its neighbours
whose canopies
forever
yearned to mingle
and when the storm left
there was desolation
and nothing else
.
brought to it
e v e r y t h i n g
it
ever yearned
made it bend
feel alive
like the moving life
that surrounds it
brought it rains
brought it winds
taught it dance
in a way
it never thought
it could
and that too
with its neighbours
whose canopies
forever
yearned to mingle
and when the storm left
there was desolation
and nothing else
.

"brought it rains
brough it winds
taught it dance

Stunning metaphor... love this one, dear friend!

Oh! This one made me catch my breath.....
It's the tempest that makes us know we're truly alive
I'm keeping this one; I feel it; that's my tree.
beauty

lol your lovely replies always make commenting worthwhile!
so very gracious :)
(on re-read, just noticed you're missing a "t" in "brought" in 3rd stanza. Thought you might like to know.)

Re. a living tree mourns the passing of the storm
I never saw it like this before. I always thought trees hated storms but I think you're right. Also, without the wind, a tree would never be able to shake off its coat.
