a living tree mourns the passing of the storm

for the storm
brought to it
e v e r y t h i n g
it
ever yearned

made it bend
feel alive
like the moving life
that surrounds it

brought it rains
brought it winds
taught it dance
in a way
it never thought
it could

and that too
with its neighbours
whose canopies
forever
yearned to mingle

and when the storm left
there was desolation
and nothing else
.
