Night's Mistress
the night wind down
its heartbeat slowed
in rhythm with mine...
we danced like two desperate lovers
it would be our last...
we knew it would never be again
so we held each other tightly
two bodies, one old soul...
brought together before the first dawn
the stars witness our union in the heavens
they cry bitter tears our lust,
love affair was coming to an end
the early morning light would see to that
her jealousy over my female flesh
so much as a Goddess in mortal form
she bats her glittered lashes at the dark
he turns his back on her...
and holds me closer
a lover with all hell on his heels
a scorned morrow...she haunts his steps
angry he carouses...with ones like me
ladies of the evening...in our arms satisfied
darkness greed is ravenous...
pleasure in my pain
his rage tenderness...
raining down upon my skin
I bear it all for my lover...
shining universes in his eyes
take me in... take every inch of me in
so he will always remember...
salvation once was a woman
called sin...
