the lady with stars in her hair
sapphire eyes lie
telling tales of dead men
renown stories of old
ghosts in the book of nod cry out
where we lie secreting our sin
scarlet whispers shot the sun
the harlot rode out on man number 101
her claim to fame
catching stars in her hair
burning with a passion to tame the wild
she climbed smokey castles in the sky
the moon played hide and seek in her infantile mind
her light shine, pomegranate jeweled stories
she spun to reach the pinnacle of truth
her sunsets all glorified her broken fables
in her doubt, she stumbled over decrepit fallacies
she counted them heroes in her story
she reached the heavens
her words her stairway to the stars
no one ever saw her trickery
her talent was a gift from the gods
she covered herself in darkness
they didn't see the woman herself
only the light that shines from her eyes
mystical wonder, word tamer
man number 101 her eternal lover
on the backs of eons
her story unfurls and evolves

I knew a lady once that you write of Bren. You really can have such a delicate touch into the human condition...

another archetypal sweep of imagery...I wonder if 'man number 101' is named Archie (hehehe) then the lady with stars in her hair is either Betty or Veronica....fun read Brenda...

"Her talent was a gift from the gods." I'd say that applies to you, Crim. Extraordinary work!

I’m a huge fan of mythology (I’m actually finishing reading American Gods right now, lol) and in storytelling, I am also a big fan of exploring the myths that people tell themselves until they believe it, too, and build their lives and memories around. It never occurred to me to marry the two, and I find the concoction brilliant. Please explore this subject more.

thank you dearest Taurus for the beautiful comment on this write the book American Gods sounds interesting...
some of what I write I consider channeling where I channel a Goddess...in these type of writes it's her that is speaking through me... this one is a little different though...
