One Thousand Cranes

Some
beginnings
start from seeds, others from cuts
propagated, professed, appressed

A
Symmetrical line
Aligns and locks
Edges, borders, corners
Of a fractured world
Smoothing wrinkled wounds
Winding arias into clouds
Across brilliant skies
Painted in shades of blue

I
Kneel
In the air he holds
Brimming with seasons:
Winter in absence, Summer in wisps
Fall-en faith, Spring-ing within
Waxing, waning
Confessions and toils
Knell in each fold
Entangled, resolute
Re-Volutionary
Lamentation
With a hint of sweet restlessness
Tempering
Reflective surfaces

Letters leafed
Spellbound, star-struck, wanderlust
Right to left
Pages haunt to be fed
kaleidoscope of dreams
I Fold the ache into origami shapes
Cranes
Threaded with golden threads

Metamorphosis which Ovid missed
One thousand wishes
Minus One
