The Cure

I've learned to fortify my heart to prevent it from being torn apart
As I've embarked on my journey of life with pics like Gordon Parks'
Displaying scenes of an array of things including heartache and pain
And everyday that I continue to play pushes me closer to being insane

The brain can only contain but so much before it begins to atrophy
All that it'll take for one to break is a major catastrophe
But it'll never be me on the T.V. that you'll see who committed suicide
You're much more likely to find me as the shooter in a homicide

This ride has been a rollercoaster, man I tell you, but there're brighter days ahead
I've just got to avoid toxic people to prevent my mental from pushing me to the ledge
I be seeing red when I introspect on the bullshit that I've had to endure
In the meantime in between time this poetic gift is my illnesses cure
