keeper of tears
melancholy has come to visit
I see her in the dusky dawn
she brings the gray
her misty emotions are at work
shading the skyline in charcoals
deep, poignant feeling colors
she desires a visit with me
and has brought some feelings with her
I see grief in the morning light
she emerges and sadly says hello
you've been refusing to see me it's time we talk
I invite her to tea
she is clothed with my tears
soft-spoken and tender
she utters truths concerning my soul
a guardian of truth
she knows how I really feel
deep down inside
she says you're out of balance
anger has been keeping us away
then enters happiness
contentment close behind her
I'd not seen them for a while
forgotten their smiles
so much like my own
I begin to cry I'm so happy to see them
their love light brightens the garden
gentle notes of revelation;
are carried on the winds
opening my inner eyes
I see them clearly now
coming from my sacred halls
they speak wisdom
the language seems foreign to me
it's the tongue of my youth
before my memories fade
and anger became my mentor
in the adult world
come in and be one with us
the fears you wear are rags
we brought the sunshine to clothe you
melancholy smiles at me
and whispers so happy to see you
keeper of my dreams
I silently weep
