Just cause it's been awhile
what aggravates me the most is what gives me away, and that is my need to make rhyme of every word that i say...or write rather
and so im trying to gather
ponder on where i got this from because most of my favorite poems dont even rhyme
they're timeless like a song written by a gemimi mind
powerful like that hurt in your chest when they say, "i know it hurts but i think this is best"
straight to the point like a hooker
why then do i rhyme all around the topic
people miss my point and i need to stop it
ill try but ill never promise

very relatable
I often feel the same way...like if what i write doesn't rhyme that it wont be considered poetry, like it wont be understood...mostly because I feel i write as i feel or how I'd speak out loud so I in turn i think it makes for an unorthodox style
but you are not only, I say write as you are there will always be some that understands your art

Yooooo it's a battle i haven't even been trying to fight....i let the rhyme win every time....i need to challenge myself and upgrade to spoken because writing is just a crutch for me!! Needed to hear THIS!

I want to try spoken too since its almost how I write anyway, but I have terrible stage fright lol

terrified of disapproval...and why are yall lookin at me?? lmaaaoo lmaooo im just gon do it...i think about what i hear and what i read... i feel like we owe it to the poetry community. one day we'll embarrass ourselves properly and get our feet wet. lol lol

Very relatable for me, as my tendency as an educator at the elementary level is to rhyme many a thought as an attempt to get a student's attention. It was in reading the work of others here that I gained the courage to every now and then to break out of the confines.

It's good to break away from the confines that we subconsciously set up LOL I think i told myself it wouldn't sound right if it didn't rhyme for every Damn line. Now if i were in your shoes with the whole elem.school teacher thing that would be my all out all time escape goat and i wouldn't detour from it lol LOL
