a beautiful mind

 
you have me reaching for beauty in my art
it's easy to see the darkness
open your eyes and it's there
 
but the light as it falls just right
on the beautiful landscape in subtle shades
takes a trained mind
 
an artists eye for detail
you have that my dear
I didn't quite see you fully before
 
my vision attuned to the bleak
couldn't recognize true beauty
when it was right in front of me
