Redemption Ain't no Day at the Beach

I've been talking about redemption
Longer than I've been sinning  
I don't pussy foot around  
Making rules and breaking them are my specialty
 
Let's go through my list:  
 
Religion: Have one but prefer to avoid
Secular and sexy is my wish
Recite 10 Hail Mary's while nipping from a half pint of Jack
 
Greed:  Worse when I was younger
Invest wisely, go for growth and income
Always save for a rainy day
 
Sins of the Flesh: Here's where the dog bites me in the ass
Very little control, always hard, known to say frequently
"Take off your Clothes"
 
All was good until it wasn't
I stopped myself cold one day
Looked at the wreckage of my soiled life and ....
 
Kept on marching
