So many bittersweet memories of her .... I remember our stereo system being this God awful faux fireplace that seemed to take up half the living room in our Harlem apartment ... my mom played her music religiously ...
Aretha’s voice was the soundtrack of some emotionally brutal nights in that Grants Projects apartment, and also joyous holidays ... I always thought my mom looked Ike her a bit as well ...
