Ghost Bar

Ale stained
ridge veined
chipped and stripped
the beer just rained .
Fatal cables
they procariously hang
over deceased spider harbouring
pool tables,with a crackle
and the odd bang .
Thread bare carpets
and old tobacco tins
engraved with scrolly bits and all the trims.
Empty bottles of brown ale
beneath an old painting
thats cock eyed and pale .
Red and green stained
broken window pains
the light stares through onto
dented mettallic old ash trays .
Theres a copy of an old brown and tanned paper
the times
It lies in peace below a clock
that no longer chimes.
A dart board which cobwebs span
an old juke box
which once played 'stand by your man.'
Dominoes and solar scarred
playing cards
just left in disregard
under a beach of dust they're scattered
next to an old abused fireplace
thats tiled out of place
cracked and battered .
Through the dirt clad window shines a dead star
dimley and into
the broken heart
of an old ghost bar..
