knowing this current  
existence always to be  
overflowing  
   
Floating effortlessly  
along a consciousness    
streamed, events of the day
often crashing against senses  
surging at break neck speed  
   
or splashing ever so gently  
with stonewashed, softened    
offerings of what I've dreamed  
eroding these dam defenses    
I no longer need  
   
That was then  
   
You swam to greet me    
out of the clear blue  
   
This is now  
   
I have so much more in store
ahead I'm only looking forward
to eyes shuttered, lying in bed  
drifting along reason and rhyme  
enjoying the ride

I'm in no hurry for warming  
by the sun on the banks    
rough and tumbled dried  
   
Thanks to this Universe
