Image for the poem Oleander Tea

Oleander Tea

I poured her oleander tea
Made certain it was sugar-free
She started once again to nag
Then ended with a wordless sag

I buried her body in the yard
Despite the fact the ground was hard
I could well see the deadly joke
Lit one more up, began to smoke

I could then hear a neighbor scream
A sure eyewitness, it would seem
I'm not a man inclined to run
No more hot tea, I've got my gun.
