Familiar Teacher
Hello once more my old friend
Somehow I always knew
I would live to see you come back around
O How familiar is this
Silence hung from your lips
and the way your embrace sways me so
Softly yet without any warmth
You always were
My most reliable companion
And only with you have I
been able to see into myself
So deeply
Yes
You bring me perfect clarity
Welcome back
Throbbing stillness,
shall I take your arm?
I have missed
something in all of this
Only this time, I hope for you
to grow me
Show me what I've hidden inside
away from all of those others.
Those lost causes
How long will I endure your presence now?
Long
Enough to better me, until I am at my best
My Dearest Loneliness
how bittersweet our love.
Somehow I always knew
I would live to see you come back around
O How familiar is this
Silence hung from your lips
and the way your embrace sways me so
Softly yet without any warmth
You always were
My most reliable companion
And only with you have I
been able to see into myself
So deeply
Yes
You bring me perfect clarity
Welcome back
Throbbing stillness,
shall I take your arm?
I have missed
something in all of this
Only this time, I hope for you
to grow me
Show me what I've hidden inside
away from all of those others.
Those lost causes
How long will I endure your presence now?
Long
Enough to better me, until I am at my best
My Dearest Loneliness
how bittersweet our love.
