Dreams

Once upon a time there was a dream
All dreamt by one of life’s dreamers
The dream that he dreamt was dreamy
A dreamscape that could only exist in a dream
He dreamt that while he was in this dream state
He met another of life’s dreamers
She was his dream girl, simply dreamy
But was she just part of the dream he dreamt
She was a dream come true, so it must be a dream
Did she dream herself here
Did I just dream her up

Turns out the dream he dreamt
Was the same dream that she’d been dreaming
They had both dreamt the same dream
A dream of love and passion
A dream of a dreamt future together
The dream girl travelling on a dream boat
Across the ocean to meet her dream boy
This was a dreamy dream well dreamt
They both dreamed the dream in unison
Night after night they were dreaming the dream
They dreamt the dream so hard it became reality

This real reality is not realistically real
In no time at all the reality became unreal
Reality bit, it wasn’t real the realisation
It was only a dream he dreamt in reality
Floating; she floated away into the ether
From which she had come to dream his dream
Smiling; she smiled that special smile; then,
Going she was gone, a smile soon to be forgotten
The dream he dreamt tarnished all his dreams
For him the dark clouds violently rolled in
There is no stopping the unstoppable stop
Foolishly the old man was a fool easily fooled
Once there was a dream, just an old fools dream
The dream he dreamt was now just a nightmare
A nightmare without end, simply endless
Night and day terrors are every night and day
The old fool who foolishly dared to dream
The dream he dreamt, is now hopelessly dreamless
The old man, the half a man, is sadly a husk of a man
Now hopelessly hopeless all hope is gone
Regretfully nothing but regretful regrets
A love lovingly held for his dream girl
Constant as constantly promised consistently

Don’t make real, dreams based on a dream
Especially dreamy ones about your dream girl
Once upon a time there was a dream
The dreamy dream he dared to dream
Of love, loving and the giving and
Receiving of a love, he finally felt loved
Deprivation deprived him yet again
Macleod law writ large; exquisitely exquisite
Passed over, his passing cannot be passed
Living life loveless laments love lost

Once there was an old fool who dared to dream
Once there was a dream of a perfect love
The dream he dreamt was just a dream and
His only escape; the dream he now dreams
Of the black page, hungry for the dirt
Ashes scattered where flowers and trees grow
Returning to the Goddess in natures splendour

The dream he dreamt is over
The dust from the pyre
From the fired up fire
Creating black snow
Creating cinders of memories
Floating skywards forgotten
Hoping for new winds
Praying for a hurricane
