A dark fairy tale

Once more I walked the borderline with you
many miles through those moldy catacombs
as you are looking to find
a safe space for your grown up child
She wears the mask of a wounded princess
Underneath that alabaster skin lives a viper ready to strike
to dig her fangs into my flesh
She aims to once again claim you as rightfully her's
She knows how to play your guilt
knows all your buttons and levers
knows just when it's time to twist your balls
Inside her there is a black hole
and you are all too eager to fill it with another insecure happy thought
You bow to her command
You lie for her, cheat for her, deny for her
When I ask you to draw a line in the sand
you turn your back
Resentment is a skin I can not shed
One of these days I might leave you in the catacombs
with your little viper princess wallowing in the poison pit
and I will walk out embracing the light
