A simple prayer

  
Lord Jesus I always seem to come to you  
When I want a favor    
Now Id like to say a prayer    
with just a little different flavor    
Your sacrifice you gave to us  
to take away our sins  
Your resurrection conquered death  
so our new life , can begin  
First Id like to say Im sorry    
Please, forgive me for my sins    
The things I've said, the things I've done    
and all the things I should have been    
So, I ask you for forgiveness    
and this is just another time    
I would ask you for your blessings    
and assist me in life's climb    
You give me many struggles    
and I know just why you do    
for without any conflict    
I might not be so tried and true    
There is just one more thing I ask    
And no its not for me    
I also ask you for your blessings    
for my friends and family    
Seems that some of us are floundering  
and could use your wisdom, so divine  
even though we can not understand  
your plan and grand design  
Thanks for always keeping us    
Close under watchful grace    
There is no other way, oh Jesus    
That we could feel your mercy and embrace
