I have accepted myself
I have accepted that I can fail
I have accepted I can lose
I have accepted that people will be cruel
I have accepted life will not always be beautiful
I have accepted the reality of living in an unfair world
I have accepted myself
I am shorter than average
I am fatter than average
I will never be rich
I will never get married
I will never have kids
I have accepted all of this
I do not expect a miracle or to live my childhood dreams
I know there will be no Hollywood movies starring me
I will not be a model in the fashion industry
I will not be a racer driving for Ferrari
I will not play professional football and score at Wembley
A record label will not hear my demo and sign me
I will not perform on Broadway
I will watch TV on the settee and eat takeaways
I will scape by, scrimp and save while I pray for the next pay day
Complain that the British weather is getting worse
I will ride the dirty bus to work
I will moan as I drag a squeaky trolley around the local store
Curse under my breath as I mop the floor and do all the other boring chores
I will walk my beautiful Dog
I will joke with my wonderful Mum
I will fall asleep writing poems in my bed with my pen and notepad in my hands
Most importantly I have accepted myself and accept I am an incredibly lucky man
I have accepted I can lose
I have accepted that people will be cruel
I have accepted life will not always be beautiful
I have accepted the reality of living in an unfair world
I have accepted myself
I am shorter than average
I am fatter than average
