The lily and the bee
I watched the lily open with the dawn
took it to my lips drank nectar long forgotten
buried my face within the silent cone
disturbed the grazing bee,a spire of delight
we shared full half- a- while.
uncounted moments precious time and flavours
worth a whole-while yet the flower would not wait.
I took the stigma, pollen on my tongue
stuff of dreams, nectar deep within the folds
sweet beyond all dreaming a pool from which I drank
I did not ask, took ... ... or was it given me ?
I drank my fill and more, left not a drop.
Soft petals, closed my ears, faint echoes, temple prayer
the flower bloomed again ... ...my thirst un quenched.
waking to the rising sun refreshed my thoughts,
morning mists dispersed.
Took again my love sweeter than the nectar
I had shared with the bee."You fell asleep. What did you dream ?
Tell me" ... ... ... ... ... ..." A lily and a bee,just a lily and a bee "
We stayed a while, slaked our thirst again until the noon day sun,
petals fading in the heat a stigma but a dream.
took it to my lips drank nectar long forgotten
buried my face within the silent cone
