The Hunger for More (Part 2)

I'm hungry for more
My hunger wants more
I have dreams to do better things
Seeing myself in a house by the shores
Seeing myself being financially secure
Knowing that I have chances to see the unseen

Chances to experience the unknown
The things that were never shown
To me before
The average hard knock life can be a bore
Danger is lurking for innocence at the corner store
Where shots can be fired at any given moment
Bullets flying, people dying
Parents and children crying
As they see their loved ones lie on the pavement
Just wondering why
They had to take you away from the path of greatness
It's a sad shame
That things are becoming worse by the day
Damn I definitely need to get away

Gentrification has me scared
It's hardly safe where we live
Being impoverished sometimes brings me to tears
Constantly at war with former fraudulent peers
For so many years
I've been itching to get away from here
Waiting for an opportunity to appear
So I can be at the top of the game like a chandelier

Ready to give me and my family a better life
So I let my hunger and drive help me strive
So I can thrive with pride
This long but meaningful journey should be a great ride
Filled with ambition
To complete my missions
That'll help fulfill my wishes
As time brings them to fruition

In due time, it'll be sure
The road to success will be pure
Life is destined to get better, whenever
You decide to have a hunger for more
