ANOTHER SLIPSTREAM POEM  (9-20-1999, Galveston Island, Texas)

lost deep
here in
the mysterious
whispering song
of a rustling
cottonwood tree
above me
a blue jay
laughs unseen
somewhere
up there
lost amid
the soothing hypnotic
clapping applause
of its
dancing
green canopy
where i too
am lost
entranced
by its
mesmeric
sweet lullaby
spell
as distant
faint memories
of past
summers
long gone
fall hauntingly sad
through me
like sands
fleeting fall
as it streams
through
my daydreams
hour glass
yet still somehow
comforting
as well
in its brief
trickling
melancholic recall
here in
the gentle embrace
of its
cooly moving
shade
all around me
which feels
somewhat
like the sublimial
touch
of subtle
ghost songs
of lost loves
long flown
softly sung
by the babbling
brook tongues
of its leaves
rustling on
like a continuously
flowing stream
ive passively
been
swept up in
off and away
willingly
surrendered to
now here
so pleasantly
lost in
so completely
adrift in
the trance like
mystery
of its song
where all my
senses
thoughts and feelings
have now
so intrinsically
become
integrally interwoven
into the
flowing currents
of this sudden
daydreams
peaceful little
slipstream
poem
