orchids in the desert

 
there are bleeding orchids in the desert
the sun split and the trouble began
under the shade of ferns
 
an uprising. two master poets,
a rarity indeed,
came together as one  
their love bloomed hothouse flowers
in the dry desert lands
 
the misty dawn of their relationship
flavored these blooms
with the ache of amor  
 
flooding the chambers of their hearts
with tidal waves of passion
biblical in proportion  
enough to carry the arc away
and Noah with it
 
the sands filled
canyons were carved
deep in the recesses of their souls
 
the orchid's continue to bloom
they are symbols of love
withstanding all
 
and the sun split
then all the trouble began
once again
 
as the Earth spin
the moon stay still
and the stars watch on in wonder
that such a beautiful moment  
came into being
