Educating the Youth

I’ve always wondered why the museum
When taken on those deathly school trips
Visiting the plastic relics of history
Waxed built echoes of a great past
Educating us that we must learn
From the mistakes of the tyrants
That peace never lasts and silence breaks
Backstabbing and betrayals
Courageous cowards ruling all
A loop hole for centuries
And all the superior minds that fell
Into this twining twisted trap

But enough of the kings
What of the peasants?
When were we to be taught the truth
That we’re studying to rot
And we’re rotting to study
The little people they forget
Whilst visiting the shadow of history
We can learn our fates from the field
Filled with teeth of marble and stones
A feast of decaying carnage
Where eventually we’ll all rest

So the next time they bring out
The little blue suggestion box
I’ll waste no time to suggest
The next trip we visit the graves
