The cars the star

Detroit saw its birth
Pennsylvania steel from the furnaces mouth
pressed in the mills, just a town run about
just another anonymous big saloon
would you give it garage room

I'm no expert I cannot tell
a Chevy from a Buicks body shell
the size of the boot the shape of the hood
the bigger the better for that custom look

he did not tweak its power plant
with polished valves and high lift cams
the Indy car circuit would not see it timed
or Vulcan quarter mile drag race burn out fire

a show on wheels to turn all heads
emerged from the garage dusty depths
came forth a rolling piece of art
the rainbows end glitterati ark

not a tawdry model of suburbia
a token to the petrol Gods hyperbola
if Blings the thing in supplication
adornment in excess is the solution

psychedelic schizophrenia
figmentation auto from the minds bulimia
tinsel town transmission with the slickest shift
not in a museum with the archivists

a dream machine to drive the streets
his trade mark finish in sparkling chic
flamboyance turnpike carnival
giving it large all down the mall

the license plate bore this remark
Larry made this car the star
