Image for the poem Sated

Sated

She steps out around midnight
Experiencing rare appetite
A taste for a throbbing vein
She sips, and rarely leaves a stain

She locates a man of class
A dandy whom she cannot pass
Attracted by his regal way
His appearance as the perfect prey

Her teeth find purchase in his flesh
Finding his ambrosia fresh
She licks her lips, then drains him dry
Savoring that richest high

She leaves him cooling on the street
Returns to her expensive suite
She fed for sustenance, not fun
Well sated 'fore the morning sun.
