The Fall
My time is up
These long nights slow
And I pay in full with everything
Through cracks
I hear crowds chanting
Kill the usurper, throne stealer
It's untrue, so I thought
You were the one
The boy with summer hair
Who came back from the sickness
Malevolent after the fall
People dance
They crown another
A man who held my spear
In these rags
I observe in a cage
My blood, he looks away
The hubris, the resignation
You were the one
The boy with summer hair
Who came back from the sickness
Malevolent after the fall
To the rope
I swear I'll submit
Madness, that's all it was
Letting go
My thought goes
An infection in my brain
Once found, now lost
These long nights slow
And I pay in full with everything
Through cracks
I hear crowds chanting
Kill the usurper, throne stealer
It's untrue, so I thought
You were the one
The boy with summer hair
Who came back from the sickness
Malevolent after the fall
People dance
They crown another
A man who held my spear
In these rags
I observe in a cage
My blood, he looks away
The hubris, the resignation
You were the one
The boy with summer hair
Who came back from the sickness
Malevolent after the fall
To the rope
I swear I'll submit
Madness, that's all it was
Letting go
My thought goes
An infection in my brain
Once found, now lost
