Rear-View Mirror

A cabbie needed patience
in matters of the clandestine
and although his trade put him behind the wheel
he was quite content
in the passenger seat.

His reserve afforded him
visual opportunities
to keenly observe
intimate engagements
often restricted to third parties.

Apt to linger in the unspoken realms
he could detect when drive would overtake reason.

A witness to the alchemy of lust:

A man intent on savouring a women until she came
unwilling to oblige her request to enter
even when she asked countless times
"Not until you are ready", his reply.

A late night drive
two girlfriends under the spell
of a wine-soaked buzz
compelled to get off
despite their inability to secure companionship
"Just finger me for a bit and I'll do it back", one proposed.

A John and his leather bag
- a collection of lubricants
and specific instructions for his hire
"Just hands," he said "no mouth".

The night shift opened him up to a world of proclivities
and many times he would see their eyes
gauging him for a reaction
performing for him
an integral player
to the delight
of expanding
the arousal of
the high.
