Beyond Myself
I ask myself, with gentle irony,
Whether you have ever been in love;
When I look down and watch your fingers rove
Across this fiefdom - yes - your "property" -
I wonder if you have capacity
To switch from lust to love; and would that prove
That it was right to let you, then, remove
My clothing: yes, you leashed and collared me,
But was I foolish and deluded too
To listen to your wilful blandishments
And hear you tell me of our riches? Wealth
In this domain should be more than a screw;
It should be discipline that represents
Someone I really need beyond myself...
Whether you have ever been in love;
Wealth
In this domain should be more than a screw;
It should be discipline that represents
Someone I really need beyond myself...
