Image for the poem Immortal journey

Immortal journey

From stone
Carved crevices
Excavated

Burial mound opens
And pre historical carcass
Walks this earth

In a new embodiment
With eyes and ears
Reading my own ancestry

From bones
O Elam
Where jasmin preaches
My heart remembers

The voice of your lips
Pressed upon mine
Lumiscent

I look for you
There is no sign
Or warning

Oak speaks
Through this ship
We are leaving

You have to run

You have to go

As I lay on the deck
My streaming tears
Could not be stopped

My tunic is drained by my longing
The blood is as red as my dress
They have
Plundered my body

The old crone said
That once they
will find our skeletons
They will never know
how broken
we are

Elam
I bid you now
Farewell

We are found
In the water
We drank

From
the Buddha bucket
The lotus position

Will not
Save us
Now

Note
Elam is
Old name for Iran
