Again
I can't say I was ever compelled to set off on a journey to capture him as I was pleased with the way my life unfolded, without ever needing or bleeding, for another soul.
However, in between all the sufferance
he became my balm from another’s hand
as I took blow after blow until I sunk so low.
Distance, became our only salvation because if we didn't have that vastness between us, we would've certainly perished from the heat of our bond.
Until, we were nothing but ashes.
Instead, a flickering flame remains, and it burns endlessly as I simmer at the thought of us entwined upon one another, again.
