I Am the Moon and the Day

For "Again". Thanks for the question and the challenge.

Would you believe me if I told you I was the moon and not the sun?
Truly, I am only a reflection and not the bright shinning source.
Yes, I am only the moon hanging high in the blue sky of day.
But I should tell you that I am also the day and not the night.
I am the well lit sky with birds singing and flowers swaying in the breeze.
No, I am not the night. I would not like being the night,
Living in dark shadows, imprisoned by the absence of light,
Always waiting for the next day to begin and the black to fade away.
Yes, I am definitely the day, from pink morning sky to orange sunset.
Did I mention that I am also the moon?
A moon born out of season and drawn from the waters of the sea.
Even to this day I control the rising and falling of the ocean waves.
You know I could never be the sun, that ball of flames that blinds and burns tender skin.
I am confident that I am the moon of romance glowing in the distance.
The moon that makes you wish you could come to me, always there, always so far away.
The moon which is a fisherman's net catching every eye that looks upward.
I want you to know that I am both the moon and the day.
I am certainly not the dark night because day bathes everything with light so even I seem exposed.
However, I could never be the sun because like the moon, I still have a dark side.
