Work is interesting
I hate it
But it's interesting
The work and the people

Much of the work is boring
But much is quite exciting
At times in my little mind
Finding excuses to be here

The people are interesting
I can't stand half of them
But the other half are ok
We have our good days and bad

Most days are mixtures
Good, bad and in-between
The in-between is boring
But I like it best

The in-between days go fast
The bad days drag on forever
And the good days are rare
Sometimes Fridays are good

The people are interesting
My colleagues and our clients
The clients aren't so bad
My colleagues vary

There are the bosses
Who do very little
Pretending they do a lot
And acting important

There are the workers
Busily beavering away
Chipping at the edges
Of the ever growing mountains

And there are the others
The smart ones
Who plod along
Safely under the radar

I want to be like them
Not too much, not too little
In the Goldilocks Zone
Safely until retirement
