The Listening Dawn

talk to the dawn
because the world isn't listening

let your feelings rise to greet her
in the early morning hours
when the dew symbolizes her grieving

each day brand new
it's with her tears she cleanses

let her renew you
inside of a thought captured
while you pay her homage

if  you listen closely
she whispers to the children of the morn
who rise early to greet her

on the mountain tops we gather
and by the great ocean side we pray
in wonder we gaze
as the sky goes from onyx to pink

while she is yet waking the Earth
she blushes in innocence of the unspoiled

each day a new chance
for those who trek
this long winding journey

a new day for growth
and personal discovery
