let letta mbulu sing again

Let letta mbulu sing again
Let a black man child find meaning again
24 years after we still  remain the same
Where is the freedom they promised us?
They gave us a black president to keep us silenced and turn away our eyes
While they are busy digging our gold and take away our land from us
Why does it feel like we've been trapped with the idea of equal rights?
When the rich keep pulling far away from us
Are we still paying the debt of being born dark?
Let latta mbulu sing again
"Awukho umehlukolana"
We're still not yet uhuru
A black man in a fancy suit and a Bible in the hand is still a slave
Educated English and fluent Afrikaans only a fool will take praise
Living in an RDP is still no different from living in a cave
24 years after being black will get you locked up in a cage
24 years after we still carry dompasses with the color of our face
24 years after we're still running the same race
Lefa la dithotho le jewa ke ba hlalefileng
We call upon our ancestors
Let letta mbulu sing again
Let a black man child find meaning again
"Awukho umehlukolana"
We're still not yet uhuru
