Stillness  

We move the speed of presence --    
   no moment better or less      
by what is taken or left in growth      
     
Poetry imitates natural being    
   no value heightened or reduced    
for brevity or expanded length    
     
It's a Spirit, feeling beyond    
   beating existence of word cavities      
excavating marrow from space. . .      
     
fertilizing bones of cell     
   into that first breath of Poem    
inseminating the womb of us;    
     
secrets of the Universe      
   lie not in the written or performed    
but, in what is not seen or heard;      
     
Silence is the deepest verse:      
   the holy grail of knowledge    
sipped only by a stillness of self
