What Is It?

It has no respect for people who're like me
It has very little to no semblance of empathy
It tells us that we're wrong for taking a knee
It has a selective memory of its own history

It proclaims to be home of the brave, land of the free
It proclaims that we are all of one team but I fail to see
It says The Star Spangled Banner is what we should sing
It says that we should overlook the words of stanza three

It says taking a knee is disrespecting those who died for thee
It conveniently forgets that's an American right constitutionally
It says you're free but that's not reality if you perceive alternatively
It doesn't like for me to think differently than what it says to believe

It has a strong tendency of verbalizing things hypocritically
It hates for me to have a mentality of, let's say, a Spike Lee
It says that proclivity of creativity brings too much controversy
It systemically seems to be conducting itself outright sadistically

It psychotically believes that we all should be just capitulating
It has citizenry whom consistently teach us to be assimilating
It doesn't want any of thee citizenry to act like a revolutionary
It preferably would love for thee to take all of the orders militarily

Its proclamation that all lives matter is a mystery
It has displayed continuously that that's a fallacy
Its grand juries habitually acquits its Justice League
It disregards victims that have any African ancestry

It cleverly creates stories to make it all seem justifiably
It typically is a common topic of discussion in my poetry
Its blindness is affecting me adversely psychologically
