A Song on the Railing

A bluebird , singing ,
on your railing .
Your mind wandering ,
reality failing .
Clouds above ,
imagination sailing .
Look !
that one looks like me ,
entwined in her seams ,
pulsating and wailing .
A bumble bee pauses ,
in front of your face ,
whispering the secret !
your mind wobbles ,
it could not translate .
And a butterfly twirling ,
in whimsical grace ,
adorned , with dazzling !
the princess ,
and a purple haired maiden ,
try to keep pace .
The flowers sway , in rhythm ,
with the fading day .
In the breeze from a willow tree ,
weeping , as the sunset cries ,
in pink agony .
And your hammer and thunder ,
try desperately to remain ,
the knight in ‘shiny’ armor ,
the crisp apple , on a stick ,
that glazes her eyes !
and keeps her love ,
for you . . . quick ! !
